Supporting the American Cancer Society and giving back is a core value of the Shedlin family. Since beginning the Allan Shedlin Memorial Golf Classic 20+ years ago, they have demonstrated their commitment to the Society’s mission to eliminate cancer as a major health problem. Since its inception, the outing has raised more than $10.5 million to benefit the American Cancer Society’s lifesaving mission to end cancer as we know it, for everyone. Each year, the Classic partners with financial corporations to honor a philanthropist in the industry in the spirit of remembering Allan Shedlin, a 32-year American Cancer Society ambassador.
As the only organization combating cancer through advocacy, discovery, and patient support, the American Cancer Society has made significant contributions to the fight against cancer over the last 110 years. We advocate for lifesaving policy changes, promote healthy lifestyles to help prevent cancer, and provide information, answers, and support to people in every community who have been touched by cancer. We also research cancer and its causes to find more answers and better treatment.
